Ovechkin named the NHL's first star of the day for the second consecutive time

Washington's Russian forward Alexander Ovechkin was the first star of the NHL game day.

The 39-year-old Russian made a double-double in the match against "Utah" (6:2) on the night of 19 November.

Ovechkin was named the first star of the day for the second day in a row - on 18 November he was recognised as the best after his hat-trick against "Vegas" (5:2). He now has 25 (15+10) points this season. The Russian came out on a clean first place in the NHL sniper race.

In addition, Ovechkin now has 868 goals in his NHL career. The gap between Ovechkin and Wayne Gretzky's record (894) is 26 pucks.

The second star of the day was "Montreal" goaltender Sam Montembeault, who played a zero game against "Edmonton" (3-0). The third star was "Colorado" defenceman Cale Makar. He scored a double in the game against "Philadelphia" (3:2).
